Noun-verb mismatch
Example:
"A herd of horses are better than a flock of sheep" ("herd" is singular).
"The City feels that this is a bad idea". (A city can't feel).
"This paper will describe..." (Paper can't describe; only people can)

Lay and Lie.....ah it gets me everytime!
It's simple, but I mess it up all the time!
Wrong: I got dizzy and had to lay down.
Right: I got dizzy and had to lie down.
Right: Just lay those books over there.

Hand in Hand
I think that these essay's go hand in hand. When I first started reading I wasn't very interested, but as I kept reading I became interested in the topic and kept reading. I really enjoyed this weeks reading.

Okay....I'm pickin' up what you're puttin down....
Okay this is so confusing for me! But I went and did some research and there is not doubt in my mind in where I should put effect and affect. Here is what I found and hopefully if you have a problem, this will help...
Affect is in the future, and effect is in the past...
Affect usually has a future tense to it.
Example: "The tornado will affect the town."
Effect usually has a past tense to it.
Example: "You can see the tornado's effect on the town."
Affect also has a present tense
Example: "The tornado is affecting the town."
I got my info at http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_the_words_'affect'_and_'effect'

There and Their....lets get it right!
There are so many people that don't know the difference between there and their. I had a problem with them for a while, but now I've got it down! Here are some examples that will help you remember.
How to tell the difference
there- is generally a place
their- is plural for third person
Examples
Ashley and Stefanie went to their meeting together.
I went to the grocery store but they were out of eggs there.
If you want more information. Check out the website!

Not a fan!
I really don't like Michael Moore! I think that he just talks to hear himself speak! I feel that he is the idiot in our nation. He's says inappropriate statements and has irrational thoughts! I don't have much to say about him other than the fact that he's annoying. He makes Americans sound like they are idiots. He is extremely negative and he doesn't leave any room for improvement. News flash to him, there are stupid people everywhere, not just in America! It's inevitable, but that small percentage of people don't count for the entire nation. I just don't enjoy his tone and his derogatory statements. Some of his points are credible, but they are few and far between. He's definitely not my favorite person.
