Okay....I'm pickin' up what you're puttin down....

Okay this is so confusing for me! But I went and did some research and there is not doubt in my mind in where I should put effect and affect. Here is what I found and hopefully if you have a problem, this will help...

Affect is in the future, and effect is in the past...

Affect usually has a future tense to it.
Example: "The tornado will affect the town."


Effect usually has a past tense to it.
Example: "You can see the tornado's effect on the town."

Affect also has a present tense
Example: "The tornado is affecting the town."
